Boomerang Missiles is a modification for Quake made by Richard Kalling. Inspired by the various modifications for homing missiles, this modification makes it so that the rocket of a Rocket Launcher, if it doesn't collide with anything after a certain distance, will turn around and instead attempt to return to the player.
If the player moves around, the rocket will follow, but it can still collide with surfaces and explode. The returning rocket moves at a slower rate than the outbound journey. Upon reaching the player, the player shall be given back their Rocket and the projectile will disappear. This gives the player the ability to reuse Rockets as long as they don't hit anything during its flight. This in turn makes Deathmatch a bit different, since players must decide if it is worth risking injury to prevent the player from getting back their Rocket.
