Capture the Flag (DMPLUS) is a Multiplayer level. This level is designed for Capture the Flag based gameplay, specifically with a modification known as the DeathMatch PLUS PACK!.
While this level is intended for Capture the Flag, it functions perfectly fine in normal Deathmatch.
This level is intended to provide support for Capture the Flag. While DeathMatch PLUS PACK! is designed in a manner where Capture the Flag can occur in any level, this level was designed to automate the process.
Capture The Flag
Capture the Flag is relatively similar to Deathmatch. It can be enabled by an Op on the server by setting the teamplay value to X4, the X referring to a variable that defines friendly fire. Normally the players would then need to define bases, but the process has been automated by this level, meaning the most the player needs to do is determine which team they wish to belong to. While players automatically join the silver or gold teams, they can switch by changing their colors between 0 (Silver) and 1 (Gold).
The player is expected to capture a Flag based object that appears identical to a Runic Keys. These Flags exist in the two bases, the goal is to reach the opponent base and gather the opponent's Flag, then return to your own base. Meanwhile you must protect your own Flag from being stolen by opponents. The player can get points for frags, but gains 15 frags for each successful Flag claim.
A player that takes the Flag will glow, similar to how they glow with a Quad Damage. If a player is killed with the Flag it will drop where the player dies, allowing another player to either continue to claim it or secure it by automatically sending it back to their base, depending on the team the player is on.
After the time limit or frag limit is hit, the scores for the Gold and Silver teams will be shown.
There is an alternative X5 teamplay mode known as Random Capture the Flag. The only difference between the two modes is that the Flag does not spawn at the base once claimed, but can appear anywhere in the map, meaning both parties must look around to find it. Note that the Flags are lit up, meaning they are visible in the darkness, and that they cannot be in Lava or Slime.
