CheeseQuake is a series of relatively basic brush editors which were designed by Darren Stabler and also used by his brother, Josh K. Stabler. Due to the unavailability of 3d editors at the time, Darren Stabler designed a collection of text editors.
Each editor was designed to output a specific brush. This means there was an editor for a room, another for a door, another for stairs, and another for Teleporters. The only variables were textures and brush scale. These would in turn be copied and pasted into a text editor to build the actual level.
Due to the release of numerous other level editors and the more complex nature of them, Darren Stabler avoided releasing the editor for a while. He eventually decided to place it on his college account so that those interested could download it while not cluttering up the general Quake community.
Note that levels made with this editor could not be loaded in other editors, such as WorldCraft or THRED.
Due to the overall complexity, plus the length of time it took to release, CheeseQuake remained an editor used only by Darren Stabler and Josh K. Stabler.
