Dagger is the third level of Dark Terror. This level features a set of Bars which must be opened by killing a couple Ogres, a Pentagram of Protection suspended on a platform over a pit of Lava, and a 100 Health on an alcove that requires swimming in Lava.

The player must search for the Gold Key in order to proceed. This level brings back the Fiend on Easy difficulty.

Quick Level Completion

  • Proceed forward towards the light structures.
  • Kill the 2 Ogres to the right.
  • Go through the Door on the opposite side of the room.
  • Follow the wooden structure around to the left or the right.
  • Leap to the bridge below to your left or right depending on your previous choice.
  • Turn left or right depending on your orientation on the bridge, then drop to the platform below.
  • Proceed forward to the far side of the room, then turn right.
  • Go through the doorway straight ahead, then descend the staircase.
  • Ignore the corridor straight ahead, instead turning around and going through the doorway to the right of the staircase.
  • Turn left, then proceed to the intersection.
  • Proceed forward to the far wall.
  • Go through the doorway to the right.
  • Turn right in the room, then proceed to the middle of the room.
  • Wait for the Elevator to ascend and Teleport you to another room.
  • Go through the Door straight ahead, then turn right.
  • Proceed forward to get the Gold Key, then turn left.
  • Drop to the bridge below, then follow it to the opposite side.
  • Drop to the platform straight ahead, then go through the doorway.
  • Cross the room and go onto the Elevator.
  • At the top, proceed forward to reach the Gold Door.
  • Proceed forward to exit the level.

Walkthrough

To your right is a stack of Crates. Proceed forward towards the light structures. Turn right and kill the 2 Ogres. Killing the 2 Ogres will cause the Bars that are straight ahead to lower. Collect the Nailgun right in front of where the Bars used to be and the Nails against the left wall, then cross the room to the far side. Collect the 2 Nails against the left wall, then go through the Door straight ahead. Kill the Fiend that leaps out of the alcove straight ahead. Ignore the left side of the platform and instead go down the right side of the platform. Collect the Nails by the Door and the Shells at the corner. Turn left, but do not proceed down the staircase as it will inhibit your ability to jump. To your left is a group of platforms suspended over a pool of Lava. Drop onto a bridge near the middle of the Lava pool. To your left is the Gold Key alcove, but it is too high to reach from your current location. Jump onto the small platform straight ahead to collect the Pentagram of Protection, then turn around and jump back onto the bridge. Follow the bridge to the left, collecting the Shells at the corner. Ignore the portion of bridge to the left, it simply elongates to allow the player to jump from the side you previously ignored. Instead, drop straight ahead to land on the platform below. Go through the doorway straight ahead to enter the next room. Two structures divide up most of the room, two doorways are in the left structure and one is in the right. Go through the doorway of the right structure, then turn right to kill the Shambler. Collect the Rockets beside the structure, then turn left and move to the far wall. Turn right once more, then look up towards a wooden structure to kill a Death Knight. Return through the doorway of the structure, then go through the doorway on the structure on the opposite side. Proceed forward to the far wall, then turn left. Look up towards a wooden structure to kill a Death Knight. Turn around and proceed forward, collecting the Rockets beside the structure and the Rockets in the upper left corner of the room. Turn right, you are now in the upper portion of the room which, unlike the lower portion, is not divided into sections. Proceed to the middle of the room, then turn left onto the Elevator.

Straight ahead on the upper floor from the Elevator is the Gold Door. Turn around and leap onto the right structure that divided the room below. Collect the 2 Cells on this structure, then turn left and leap to the opposite structure. Turn right, then collect the Thunderbolt and 3 Cells near the middle of the platform. Continue straight ahead to the far wall, then jump on the small footholds that veer to the right to get to the wooden platform with the 2nd Death Knight. Collect the Yellow Armor at the top of the platform, then return to the lower floor. Navigate around the room to the upper right corner, then go through the doorway. Proceed down the staircase, then kill the Fiend in the corridor at the bottom. Ignore the corridor straight ahead, instead turning around and going through the doorway to the right of the staircase. Collect the 2 Nails beside the wall, then turn left. Proceed forward to the intersection, then turn left to kill the Fiend. Ignore the corridor to your right for the moment, instead going down the corridor straight ahead to collect a Super Nailgun. Return to the last previously ignored doorway and go through it, proceeding forward would simply lead around to the previously ignored corridor by the staircase. Head down the ramp to the far wall. Turn left as the Wall will lower to reveal an alcove with a Fiend. Kill the Fiend, then leap as far as you can into the Lava to try to reach the alcove. Climb onto the alcove to collect the 100 Health, which will Teleport you back to the corridor on the opposite side of the Lava. Proceed to the end of the corridor, then turn right and go through the doorway. As soon as you enter the room, turn right once more. Proceed to the far wall to collect the 25 Health. The entrance to the room will raise its Bars and an Elevator will rise out of the floor. As you rise towards the ceiling, you will be Teleported to another room. Go through the doorway straight ahead, you are now on the Gold Key alcove. Turn right, then proceed forward to collect the Gold Key. Retrace your steps to reach the Gold Door. Proceed forward to reach the exit Teleporter.

Glitches

  • It is possible to reach the roof and skybox of the Sectioned room by running up one of the supports and timing the jump onto the wooden roof. This also allows for easier access to either of the Death Knight platforms.
  • The invisible Teleporter at the top of the Elevator behind the Bars seems to be a bit unstable. Sometimes the player might be teleported back and forth before reaching the room near the Gold Key. The Teleporter does not work if the player stands in the far corner from the Bars.
