Fire Scirocco is the fourth and final level of Dark Terror. This level features a Wind Tunnel, though it appears different than the ones found in Quake, the Wind Tunnel is made out of Bars creating a sort of cage-like structure instead of the hollow cylinder seen in the base game. Beyond the differences in geometry, the Wind Tunnel functions in the same manner as the ones found in Quake. Beyond the Wind Tunnel, this level also features a Leap of Faith moment where the player must jump a seemingly impossible gap.

The player must find their way up a tower to press some Floorplates in order to open up the corridor to the exit. This level brings back the Enforcer. This level also brings back the Vore on Normal and higher difficulties.

Quick Level Completion

  • Go through the doorway on the opposite side of the room.
  • Go up the staircase in the upper left corner, then turn left and ascend the second flight.
  • Turn left, then go through the doorway in the upper right corner.
  • Cross the bridge and go through the doorway on the opposite side.
  • Go up the Wind Tunnel to the left.
  • Turn around, then follow the wooden platform to your right to a doorway on the right.
  • Go through the doorway and follow the corridor to the next room.
  • Cross the room to the ramp that veers to the right, then ascend it.
  • Turn right to follow the platform, then ascend the ramp to the right.
  • Turn right at the top, then follow the platform to the end.
  • Go up the ramp to the right, then turn right at the top.
  • Go up the ramp to the right near the middle of the platform.
  • Turn around at the top, then shoot the Button.
  • Wait for the Elevator to descend, then wait for it to raise to the next floor.
  • Proceed forward to leave the Elevator, then turn right to follow the platform.
  • Turn right to continue following the platform, then go left into the next doorway.
  • Follow the bridge across to the next room.
  • Go through the doorway in the upper left corner of the room.
  • Turn left, then go through the Teleporter.
  • Proceed forward to the wall, then turn right.
  • Go up the first ramp to the right, then turn left.
  • Continue forward, then go through the doorway to the right.
  • Walk forward to reach the next platform via a Leap of Faith.
  • Press the 9 Floorplates.
  • Return to the starting room.
  • Dive into the Water and swim around the structure.
  • Swim through the hole at the bottom of the pool to reach an Underwater corridor.
  • Turn right and follow the corridor to the end.
  • Raise out of the Water, then turn around to climb onto a platform.
  • Proceed forward to exit the level.

E1M4 - Fire Scirocco

Kill the Enforcer that patrols between the light fixtures straight ahead. Cross the room to reach the doorway on the opposite side. Turn around, then aim upwards and to your left to kill the Grunt on the bridge above the starting location. Turn around once more, then go through the doorway to enter the next room. Collect the 25 Health to the left and the Quad Damage in an alcove to the left. Turn around, then collect the Nails and 25 Health in the upper left corner by the window. Turn around once more, then go through the doorway straight ahead and up the staircase. Turn left at the top of the staircase, then ascend the next flight to reach the next floor. Turn left to kill the Grunt. Collect the 2 Shells in the upper left corner of the room by a window, then go through the doorway in the upper right corner. You are now on the bridge where you killed the 1st Grunt. Cross the bridge to the opposite side, then go through the doorway. Collect the 25 Health straight ahead, then turn right to kill the Ogre and Enforcer. Turn around, then proceed forward to the Wind Tunnel where you will receive the message "You can jump up here". Jump to reach the upper floor, which has a Floor that will open to allow entry and then close so that you don't fall back down to the lower level. Collect the Nails straight ahead, then turn left to kill the Grunt. Collect the Nails straight ahead, then turn left and proceed onto the next platform. Turn right to look into a doorway to kill an Ogre. Temporarily ignore the corridor, instead turning around and looking down to see a platform between your level and the level you were on previously. Drop onto the platform to collect a Green Armor, then turn left and drop to the lower floor. Use the Wind Tunnel to return to the doorway you previously ignored, then go through the doorway. Proceed down the corridor to collect the Super Nailgun. Go through the doorway at the end of the corridor to enter the next room. Collect the Shells beside the ramp, then turn right to kill the Ogre underneath the platform of the higher floor. Collect the Shells to the right of the ramp and the Rocket Launcher in the upper left corner of the room, then go up the ramp to reach the top of the platform. Turn right to proceed down the platform, then turn right once more at the end to ascend the next ramp. Collect the Double-Barrelled Shotgun at the top, then turn right to kill the Enforcer. Go up the ramp to the left while ignoring the ramp to the right. Turn left at the top to proceed down the platform, then turn left once more to ascend the ramp. Proceed down the platform to collect the Yellow Armor, then turn left as straight ahead would lead back to the ramp that you previously ignored. Ascend the ramp to the left, then kill the Ogre and collect the 25 Health at the top. Turn around to kill an Enforcer on an alcove. Hit the Shootable Button on the alcove to receive the message "A Ring is nearby" and to cause an Elevator to descend between you and the alcove. Jump onto the Elevator and cross it before it starts to ascend in order to reach the alcove. Collect the Ring of Shadows to the left, then turn around and wait for the Elevator to lower once more. Go onto the Elevator when it reaches your level, then turn around and wait for it to ascend to the next floor. Get off the Elevator onto the platform straight ahead before it starts to ascend again or it will instantly crush you. Turn right to collect the Cells, then go through the doorway to your right.

You are now on a bridge much higher than the previous bridge that is over the starting room. Proceed down the bridge, which veers slightly to the right, to collect the Thunderbolt and Cells. Continue to the end of the bridge, then go through the next doorway. Kill the Death Knight straight ahead. Aim upwards at the wooden rafter to kill a Grunt, then turn left while continuing to aim upwards to kill another Grunt on the rafters. Head around the structure holding up the rafters straight ahead to collect the Nails, then turn left. Proceed forward and go through the doorway, then turn left. Go through the Teleporter straight ahead to reach the lower floor of the wooden rafters. You will collect the Nails as you Teleport to the wooden rafters. Ignoring the ramp behind you, proceed forward to the wall, then turn right. Proceed forward to the opposite side of the wooden rafters, ignoring the two ramps to your right. Turn right and proceed forward to collect the 100 Health. Continue down the wooden platform, then turn right at the end and proceed down the next section. Collect the Nails at the end of the wooden platform, then ascend the ramp to the right to reach the upper floor of the wooden platform. All of the wooden ramps you previously ignored would have led to this platform. Turn left and start to proceed forward, then turn left when you reach a doorway. You will be looking over the bridge looking over another bridge which in turn is looking over the starting room. There is no passageway across, instead you must make a Leap of Faith and be flung to a platform above the previous room. Press the 9 Floorplates on the platform and you will receive the message that " A Door has opened". Return to the starting room. The Floor between the light fixtures has opened up to reveal a pool of Water below. Jump into the Water to kill 6 Rotfish. Swim below the structure to reach a hole at the bottom of the pool of Water. Turn right in the corridor filled with Water to kill the 2 Rotfish. Proceed forward to the opposite end of the corridor, then swim upwards to reach the next corridor. Turn around to climb on the platform and exit the Water. Walk forward into the Teleporter to exit the level.

Demo

This is the level that the first Demo is played. The level is played with the default equipment of 25 Shells and a Shotgun. An Enforcer can be seen patrolling in front of the player, who is named "Symbol". The player moves to the right and begins firing, missing the Enforcer but alerting it to the player's presence. The player fires twice at the Enforcer, damaging it, before strafing to the opposite side of the room to avoid the Enforcer's projectiles. The player hits the Enforcer once more as he turns and start strafing across the room. The player moves to the middle of the room as they kill the Enforcer. The player moves to collect the Cells dropped by the Enforcer, then enters the next room. He moves to the right to collect the Nails, then ascends the staircase to his left. He turns left at the top to ascend once more, then starts to turn left once more to aim at a Grunt. The first shot knocks the Grunt back, the second shot kills it. The player has continued to move without stopping and goes towards the left wall to collect 2 Shells. The player at the same time is turning right to aim in a doorway at another Grunt. The Grunt and player miss each other with their initial shots. The player then realigns and kills the Grunt by shooting it twice. The player goes through a doorway and crosses a bridge to the opposite side. Entering the next room, the player turns right towards an Ogre and Enforcer. The shoots the Ogre one time, then changes to focus on the Enforcer while the Ogre is knocked back while moving close to their position. The Ogre gets out of its stun and fires a projectile at the player, causing Splash Damage to hit all those around while knocking the player's Health to 68. The player backs up towards the Wind Tunnel, getting the message "You can jump up here", while the Ogre and Enforcer start to Infight. The player continues firing at the Ogre while moving closer, causing it to focus on the player once more. The player moves in to collect the 25 Health near the Ogre, bringing his Health up to 93. Almost immediately after collecting the 25 Health, the Ogre swings his chainsaw, lowering the player's health back to 69 while the player strafes past the Ogre. The player moves into the corner as he and the Enforcer kill the Ogre. The player strafes left and fires a shot to try to hit the Enforcer, but the Enforcer moves towards the player's prior position in the corner. The player beats the Enforcer to the corner by strafing back, but moves too far and thus misses with his second shot as well. The player turns around as he runs alongside the wall, avoiding the Enforcer's projectiles. The player then fires twice to finish off the Enforcer. The player collects the dropped Rockets and Cells, then moves to focus on the Wind Tunnel as the message "You can jump up here" reappears on the screen.

The player turns around inside the Wind Tunnel to view it from all directions. Facing the room, the player jumps up to reach the platform above. A Floor opens as the player ascends to allow entry, then closes once more so that the player can land on the platform. The player starts turning right towards a Grunt. The player gets hit by the Grunt before he can react, losing 16 Health. The player moves back into some Nails, then kills the Grunt by shooting it twice. The player collects the Nails and dropped Shells, then follows the platform to the next doorway. The player runs forward, directly into the path of an Ogre. The Ogre goes use its chainsaw, but the player shoots it to temporarily knock it back as the player backs up. The player moves a little closer and fires once more, but the Ogre responds by firing a projectile of its own. The player runs back to avoid the projectile, but his attempt is unsuccessful and he drops to 21 Health. The player moves in to shoot the Ogre again, knocking it back. The player moves directly in front of the Ogre as he shoots it again. As the Ogre gets out of its stun, the player backs up once more. The player moves directly in front of the Ogre as he fires again, this time the Ogre does not get knocked back. Instead, the Ogre swings its chainsaw, lowering the player's Health to 7 as he fires again to stop the attack. Symbol rushes past the Ogre, but turns back as the Ogre swings its chainsaw again. The player tries to fire at the Ogre desperately, but hits a nearby wall. Symbol is destroyed by the Ogre. The tally screen is shown as Symbol lies dead, then the Demo ends.
