The Descent or Oh Well... is the fifth and final level of Corrupt Mischief. This level has a corrupt soundtrack directory as it searches for Track 1, which is a data track and therefore cannot be played.

The level begins with a well that the player has to jump into, discovering a perilous underworld beneath it. This level brings back the Enforcer.

Quick Level Completion

  • Jump into the well to your left to reach the Water below.
  • Swim to the bottom, then turn right.
  • Proceed forward and rise to the surface of the Water.
  • Climb onto the ledge, then proceed forward to reach a corridor.
  • Head down the corridor to reach a room with a balcony.
  • Turn left on the balcony, then follow the sections around as they veer to the right.
  • Turn right at the end of the balcony, then descend the ramp.
  • Proceed forward and follow the corridor as it veers to the left to reach the next room.
  • Continue to the middle of the room, then turn left and ascend a ramp.
  • Turn right, then head up the next section.
  • Turn right, then head up the next section.
  • Turn right, then head up the next section.
  • Turn right, then head up the next section.
  • Turn right, then head up the next section.
  • Turn right, then proceed forward onto the structure.
  • Drop into the hole in the middle of the structure to exit.

E2M5 - The Descent

Collect the Double-Barrelled Shotgun to your right, then jump into the well straight ahead to land in the Water below. Turn right at the bottom of the Water, then collect the Rockets. Proceed forward and swim to the surface to reach a corridor which can be used to exit the Water. Kill the Enforcer on the ledge beside the Water, then proceed forward into the next corridor to kill 2 Enforcers. Continue straight down the corridor to reach the next room, then turn left to kill 2 Enforcers. Proceed forward on the balcony to collect 2 Shells. Follow the balcony to your right, then go to your right once more at the end of the next section to collect the Shells. Ignore the section of balcony straight ahead and instead turn right. Kill the 2 Ogres to your right in the area below the balcony, then jump to the platform on the opposite side of the area with the 2 Ogres. Kill the 3 Enforcers on the far right side of the platform, then proceed to the far right side to collect the Shells and Nails. Turn left, then proceed forward onto the raised platform to collect the Quad Damage. Turn around to kill the 5 Enforcers that spawned when you picked up the Quad Damage. Proceed forward and drop off the platform to the pathway with the 2 Ogres below. Turn right to follow the pathway. Turn to your right at the bend of the pathway to kill an Enforcer that spawned when you picked up the Quad Damage. Proceed forward, then turn to your right onto the next section of pathway. Kill the Enforcer that spawned when you picked up the Quad Damage, then collect the Nails. Turn right at the end of the corridor, then proceed forward. Beware of the pit of Lava to the right. Continue forward past a ramp on your left, then turn left past the ramp to kill the Enforcer at the bottom that spawned when you picked up the Quad Damage. Turn left once more to look up the ramp, then kill the Enforcer on the ramp that spawned when you picked up the Quad Damage. Turn around once more as going up the ramp would lead to the balcony at the start of the room. Proceed forward and follow the corridor as it veers to the left to reach the next room. Head down the staircase, then proceed to the middle of the room to reach a ramp that ascends to the left. Continue past the ramp, then turn left and kill the Vore in the alcove. Turn right once more, then aim upwards to kill a Vore in a higher alcove. Collect the two 25 Health on the upper right side of the room, then ascend the ramp you previously ignored. Turn right at the top, then ascend the next section. Turn right at the top once more, then ascend the next section. Collect the 25 Health near the top. Turn left, then look upwards to kill a Vore in another alcove. Turn around, then proceed up the next section of platform. Turn left, then look upwards to kill a Vore in another alcove. Turn around, then proceed up the next section of platform. At the top, turn right and ascend the small ramp, then turn right once more. Proceed forward, then drop into the Pit in the middle of the structure to land in the exit Teleporter.
