The Dark Days is the third level of Dimension of the Past. This is the first level with that takes the player back to the Medieval themes after the idBase levels.
In order of appearance, this level brings back the Ogre, Zombie, Knight, Death Knight and Fiend. It also brings back the Grenade Launcher and Super Nailgun.
This level leads to the first Secret Level of Dimension of the Past, The Forgotten Castle.
Secrets
- #1) After the start you will come to a short corridor. At the end there is a locked door in a niche on the right. The switch that opens it is hidden under the ceiling on the right in front of it. In the now accessible room you will find the Yellow Armor.
- #2) After the Silver Key location, go to the stairs downward and from there jump onto the ledge on the left. Walk over the steel beams along the wall and you will reach the Red Armor.
- #3) After opening the second underwater gate, follow the tunnel. At the end is a plate smeared with blood, you have to shoot at. Behind it the path leads up out of the water. You will find a 100 Health in the dry tunnel. At the end of the tunnel you come back into the water through an opening. Note: You can also access the secret tunnel through this opening.
- #4) When you reach the small column decorated with glowing runes, pay attention to the wall on the left just before it. The stones are offset in depth and when you shoot at them, the wall opens. In the secret area you will find a large box of Nails and 25 Health.
- #5) After opening the third underwater gate, follow the tunnel. After you have left the water and entered the room, the platform above the water descends. If you look up the shaft, you will see a red switch. Shoot it. Near the exit arch is a small window, look through it to see another red switch. Shoot it and the floor panel in the middle of the room will open. There are large boxes of Nails and Shells on the ground in the water, and at the end is the secret wind tunnel leading to E5SM1: The Forgotten Castle.
