Explosive Crates can be found on some levels in Quake II. Like the Explosive Barrels, they can be destroyed by gunfire and will explode - but with less force than an Explosive Barrel. Usually, they contain items such as ammunition which will be revealed when they explode - thankfully, the ammo seems impervious to these explosions.
