IR Goggles are a new power-up introduced in the Ground Zero expansion. Once activated, all enemies and items appear bright red while its effects last, making them more visually distinct from the surrounding environment. Its effects last for 60 seconds.

It is quite helpful to make Turrets more visible - due to their small size and immobile nature, a player might not always notice them at first glance. The IR Goggles make them much more distinct to the eye. A player could also activate them when they hear the idle sound made by a Stalker - a metallic scraping sound - the IR goggles would allow a player to more easily catch a glimpse of the Stalker before the Stalker sees them, allowing them to dispatch the Stalker with a single Railgun shot. Another use could be when swimming underwater, where the view is generally murkier; it'll help you spot items under the water, or enemies on ground level waiting to ambush you when you surface.
