The Lacerator is a weapon exclusive to the Strogg in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.
General Information[]
The Strogg Lacerator is the standard-issue primary weapon available to all Strogg classes. It has average damage and accuracy, but it's rate of fire isn't very good.
It's similar to the GDF N80 Assault Rifle, but it packs a bit more punch per round. The ammo system is based on Stroyent (which the Strogg also use for health). It overheats after a 30-bullet burst. It is advised to press and hold the fire button carefully to keep an optimal rate of fire, which provides effective stopping power and doesn't let the Lacerator overheat. Also, like the Assault Rifle, there are three different variants of the Lacerator.
Infiltrators and Oppressors have access to a more accurate scoped version, that fires a 3-round burst when aiming down sights, improving accuracy for more effective long-range combat. However, keep in mind that its firerate when zoomed is slower than its original counterpart. If you decide to fire from it without using the scope, you will experience no difference between this firearm and the standard Lacerator.
Experienced Constructors can have Lacerator variant that disallows use of aiming down sights in exchange for a plasma grenade launcher, potentially allowing to eliminate whole groups of infantry, including those who are hiding behind cover. The launcher uses Stroyent to fire (This means you can use all your ammo on the launcher!)
