Maya is a Level Theme in Dissolution of Eternity and a subtype of Ancient. This theme constitutes Mesoamerican ruins that fell under the control of Quake and his forces after they distorted history.
For Quake, Adrian Carmack prepared a set of Aztec textures because id Software thought that they would have an Aztec section in their project. However, American McGee was unexcited about this and uninspired by the textures, so they had to be deleted.
