The Munitions Plant is the first map in the Fourth Unit of Ground Zero. It is the place where the Strogg's ammunition is produced and there are numerous ammo crates throughout the facility (some of them are destructible).
The most important equipment in this area is the machine that produces antimatter cores. Once a core has been created, the player will have to provide a containment pod for it, so that an Antimatter Bomb can be assembled.
This facility also houses a gondola, which provides transport into the Widow's Lair and the Gravity Well itself.

Secrets
- #1) In the room with the yellow lasers, look up to spot a grate on the wall that is a bit cracked; shoot it reveal a Shootable Button. Shoot the button to open a secret with Body Armor nearby.
- #2) THIRD VISIT: After creating the Antimatter Bomb, the giant red double doors leading to the exit gondola will open. In the room with the gondola, a wall on the far side can be destroyed to reveal a suit of Body Armor and a Power Shield. Be careful, as there is a Medic Commander here as well.
Bugs
- In the original release of Ground Zero, this level had a missing kill. When the player returns to this level after the first visit to the Ammo Depot, there is a small passageway with yellow security lasers that must be deactivated. Several Shotgun Guards are present in this passageway, but in the original game, one would not spawn into the map correctly, preventing the player from achieving 100% kills. This problem is fixed in the 2023 remaster.
