Tech Newberry is a character featured in Quake IV. He is a member of Viper Squad in the Space Marine Corps and participates in the Second Invasion of Stroggos.

Biography

Second Invasion of Stroggos

Newberry is encountered in the Perimeter Defense Station. He is the engineer on the convoy truck arriving at high speed in sub-entrance one while the Strogg are moving in. Corporal Kane escorts Newberry to the door he needs to open. Once he has opened the door, he orders Private First Class Jones to scout the room, however during the scouting Jones gets ambushed and killed by a Grunt. Kane and Newberry then move in to eliminate it. Newberry may also be killed by the Grunt, but if he survives, he will take up a defensive position in the room.

Trivia

• During the second part of the mission, the Marines start losing ground in the station, ultimately leading to casualties. No deceased Techs can be found among them, so it is presumed Newberry survived if he survived the encounter with the Grunt.
