Proximity Mines is a modification for Quake made by Jonathan Avraham (Shambler/Procedure). This modification is highly inspired from the earlier proxmin1 and serves a similar purpose, providing a proximity mine for the player. Due to the AI often not crossing the player's path, this means this modification is mostly intended for Deathmatch.

Unlike the aforementioned modification, the Proximity Mine is planted as opposed to being fired, meaning it will be placed directly where the player is standing before giving the player a three second activation period to get away.

Note that Proxmin1 was a replacer for the Rocket Launcher. This modification is instead impulse based, meaning the player can fire a Proximity Mine at any time as long as they have 5 Rockets.

Unlike proxmin1, the Proximity Mines use vanilla resources, meaning that it appears to be a Vore pod placed on the ground. It also utilizes vanilla sounds.
