Pumping Station 1 is the first facility that needs to be activated in order to flood the Strogg power plant with toxic waste. The area consists of several rooms along a primary passageway and a system of other rooms and water canals accessible from damaged infrastructure.

One of the water pipes leads to a large outdoor area, which connects to several other corridors.

Secrets

  • Pc icon #1) After going up the elevator, clear out all the enemies in the area and go back to the room atop the first ramp (where the pipes, crates and flickering yellow light are). Shoot the aforementioned light to blow up the crate to the left of it that's atop two other crates, and jump up there using the explosive barrels to grab the now-exposed Adrenaline. If the barrels were blown up during the battle, you will need to rocket jump to it.
  • Pc icon #2) In the same area, you will see some large pipes ahead of you. One of them is cracked; shoot the cracked section to blast it open, then jump inside. Proceed through the water pipe to reach a secret room containing Technicians, another Adrenaline, and another pipe you can jump into to exit the room.
  • Pc icon #3) Take the pipe exit from Secret #2 out to a big, outside area. There are two grates out here; one directly in front of you in the water and one way up above it, on a back wall. Shoot both of these to open a secret compartment with a Quad Damage. Be wary, as this will unleash a group of Flyers as well as a Gladiator that comes out of the door up here.

PSX version:

  • PS1 icon #1) When you encounter a pair of Berserkers at the top of a ramp, you will see some large pipes ahead of you. One of them is cracked; shoot the cracked section to blast it open, then jump up and inside. Proceed through the water tunnels, encountering Flyers along the way, and you will eventually reach an outside area. Look for a shootable button high on the wall to open a nearby chamber containing the BFG10K.
