Shocka(TM) Ammo is a modification for Quake made by Dane on October 18, 1996. This modification features an alternate Weapon mode for the Grenade Launcher and Rocket Launcher.
The player can swap between Shocka and normal Rocket Ammo by using Impulse 12. The toggle affects all Weapons, meaning swapping from the Grenade Launcher to Rocket Launcher will not switch back to regular.
Shocka ammunition is mostly harmless; its sole purpose is being able to knock opponents backward. This will briefly stun Monsters and can be used to propel opponents into pits of Lava. The closer the opponent is to the explosion, the more they will be propelled.
Mostly harmless, players can use Shocka Ammo to break the bones of their opponents, killing them. If the velocity of the hit is fast enough and the opponent hits a solid surface, their bones will break and they will take a great amount of damage. Note that the velocity is greater when an opponent is a bit of distance away from a wall, meaning it is best to let an opponent move a bit from a wall before causing injury with this tactic.
A Quad Damage will cause the Shocka Ammo to be even more powerful, launching opponents even further. Note that Gibbed heads can also be bounced around with Shocka Ammo; they will also not be destroyed by colliding with walls.
In addition to the Shocka ammunition, this modification alters Monsters so that they can be injured by Slime and Water. While it was intended for Monsters to be injured by Lava and the documentation states such, they are immune. This mechanic was designed to make the Shocka ammunition useful in Single Player. Note that Rotfish do not get injured in Water, nor do Zombies due to them commonly being found in Water in the vanilla levels. If any other Monster has their head above Water, they take a light amount of damage, and take a greater amount when below the Water.
