The exposed communication system core
The Strogg Communication Laser is a Strogg device located within the Upper Palace in the capital city of Cerberon. As its name suggests, it seems to be a communications link between the Strogg command structure and their armies.
During the War against the Strogg, Bitterman infiltrated the palace and was ordered to disable or destroy the Communication Laser. He was able to use a combination of the Data Spinner and Data CD, reprogramming them and re-inserting them into the system to sabotage the communications laser.
In the mission pack Ground Zero, Stepchild is ordered to hinder Strogg ground-to-air communications. He achieves this by reprogramming another Data CD and then activating another Communications Laser, sending tampered-with information to the Strogg fighter fleet and hindering their effectiveness.
