TeamSkins is a modification for Quake made by Shawn Schultz (Rizzen). This modification attempts to enhance the realism of the game by giving other players the ability to see how much Armor a player has. This makes the modification somewhat similar to Item Skins.

Each player is swapped to a specific skin when wearing a specific type of Armor, such as Red Armor or Yellow Armor. When the Armor value drops below 50, the skin changes to one that appears to be riddled with bullets.

A player in a Biosuit also has their skin temporarily changed to such; this takes precedence over Armor, meaning a player's Armor value will be hidden while having a Biosuit.

Note that the player.mdl file includes a large number of skins that appear to have only existed for testing purposes; they do not do not appear in-game. The final couple of skins come from MultiSkin.

Also included with this modification is a teamplay-based lock. Players must select either red or blue prior to joining the server; all other colors will result in the player being killed and set to one of the allotted colors. Trying to change color mid-game, no matter the circumstances, will result in a death. This means the player will be killed twice and lose two frags if they switch to an invalid color.

Note that the player cannot be killed if teamplay 1 is on, they will instead have their screen red and be unable to perform common actions such as jumping or attacking.
