The Hangars is the main area of a major starport, from where the Strogg distribute cargo to various other locations, including their moon base.

The freighter that Joker is interested in has docked and is receiving cargo. The main entrance hatch has been blocked by a force field, so he would have to find another way to "smuggle" himself aboard. Thus, he would be able to reach the moon of Stroggos and attempt to sabotage their counter-fleet.

The level features a processing facility for captive humans, who are likely intended to be used as sustenance and spare parts.

Secrets

  • #1) When you arrive in the upper level of the conveyor belt room you passed through before (with the Railgun on the high-up crate), you will see a stack of crates near the wall on the far side of the room, close to the conveyor belt. A Body Armor is hidden on the floor behind the front crates.
  • #2) Underneath the ramp leading to the blue forcefield hatch used to exit the level, there is a hidden Megahealth container.
  • #3) At the very end of the stage, in the narrow maintenance corridor under the conveyor belts, destroy the caution-striped wall to your right to find a suit of Combat Armor.

Notes

  • In the first large room with the crates, a player might be tempted to rocket jump to the upper walkways to bypass a chunk of the level. However, they will find that an invisible barrier prevents this.
  • The exit to this level is just beyond the set of lasers through which the food crates pass through. The intended method to reach the exit is for Joker to smuggle himself into a crate and allow himself to be carried safely through the lasers by the conveyor belt. However, it's possible to activate an Invulnerability and simply walk through the lasers when you first reach this conveyor, thereby skipping part of the level.
    • Another method is to use a rocket jump to land into one of the crates carrying insane marines. The insane marine must be killed before the player can fully fit inside. The container's walls will block the lasers like they normally do.
