The Reactor is the main hub of the Strogg power plant - it houses the reactor core and connects with its supporting facilities. The area features huge skyscraper-like machines, large pools of coolant liquid, as well as a master switch, which can expose the reactor core.
The map undergoes several major changes as the player progresses through the hub. First, the coolant liquid disappears, leaving exposed overheated machinery visible. In the final stage, parts of the level are flooded with toxic waste and the whole area becomes unstable, with periodic explosions and tremors.

Secrets
- #1) When you get to the lower level of the starting room where the Gladiator was sniping at you from, take a left at the intersection and head into the next room. In here, you will find two Berserkers as well as a pillar in front of you with a slightly recessed piece of wall in between what looks like two lights (one on either side); shoot the wall to open it and climb on up to reach another Adrenaline; there is another wall up here you can lower by just walking against it, which brings you back up to the upper level of the starting room, where the other Gladiators were.

Differences in the E3 97 version
See E3 Demo (Q2) page.
Differences in the PSX version
- Different enemy count and secrets (see above).
- The level Cooling Facility is not included in the PSX version. After disabling the reactor's safety mechanism and deactivating the forcefields, the player proceeds directly to the Toxic Waste Dump.
- This is the first opportunity for the PS player to acquire a Railgun, since the Factory unit is absent from the PSX campaign.
- Once this Unit is complete, the player will proceed to Defense Command rather than the Big Gun.
