The Waste Disposal Area is a level in the PSX version of Quake II. It seems to be an extension of the Toxic Waste Dump, and is where the toxic waste produced by the Strogg Reactor is stored. The area consists predominantly of corroded metal and features numerous pools and canals filled with flesh-dissolving slime.

Secrets

• #1) Beyond the starting area is a pool of slime. Use the nearby Enviro-Suit and dive into the slime, and swim forwards to find another room containing a Railgun behind a set of bars. Look up to see a shootable button that opens the bars and collect the Railgun, then swim back the way you came. There's a ladder out of the slime where you jumped in.

Notes

• Whereas in the PC version the player would return to Toxic Waste Dump after completing their objective in Pumping Station 1 and 2, the PSX player comes here instead. This level is based upon the later sections of Toxic Waste Dump, but is not directly connected to the rest of Toxic Waste Dump.

Bugs

• The difficulty settings on this level are inconsistent - the strongest opposition is encountered on Easy difficulty, then Hard, with Medium being the easiest. This is one of five levels in the PSX campaign with this issue.
