“ | Recon Four, be advised. Gekks have exited facility and entered Badlands. Are proceeding with marker to Gekk lair. | ” |

The Water Treatment Plant is a large auxiliary facility at the Strogg industrial center. Its main purpose is to process polluted water from the Strogg factories, most likely with intent of re-using it in industrial facilties (since the Strogg are not quite concerned for their homeworld's environment).
The level features several large pools and canals filled with water and a number of indoor facilities, including a small warehouse. The main floodgates will have to be opened, in order for the player to continue the pursuit of the band of Gekk into the Badlands.

Secrets
- 1) At the start of the level, head left until the end of the platform above the door. There are some very small, easy-to-miss steps on the cliff face—these take you to an Ion Ripper.
- 2) In the crate room, there is a Quad Damage on top of the highest set of crates. To reach it, start in the lower area where the door to the outside is located, and make sure to destroy the explosive crate underneath the Railgun. If you have trouble figuring out the exact pattern, finding a video of it is recommended.
- 3) In the same room, search behind the crates to find a destroyable panel, behind which is a red power conduit. Destroy the conduit to allow a ladder to descend from the ceiling. Use the crates to jump to it, and climb up to claim a suit of Body Armor.
- 4) There is an the outside area with a body of water with two floodgates opening into it. An Adrenaline is nestled between one of the floodgates and the cliff face. Hint1: The place where you eventually fight with band of Gekk. Jump into the water and go to the left corner of floodgates entry. Hint2: Floodgates entry next to stone stairs (if you go upstairs, you will fight with Gunner).
- 5 and 6) There is an outside area with a body of water that has only one floodgate opening into it. Explore the water to find a Hyperblaster and some ammunition, and then look for two side-by-side pipes underwater - one of them has a cracked grate you can destroy, allowing you to swim into the pipe. These pipes are very long and so it's best to have a Rebreather for this journey - if you don't already have one from a previous level, you can find one in the upper platform of this same area, near the button which opens the floodgate. Note: if you attempt the pipe journey without a Rebreather, then you will definitely take substantial drowning damage as you swim through the pipes. When you're ready, swim into the pipe and you will eventually emerge in a room, which is the first secret. While your Rebreather is still active, immediately swim into the other pipe adjacent to it, at the end of which is an Invulnerability power-up. Return to the room (there's also an Ammo Pack to be found underneath the pipe entrances) and explore it to find a ladder leading to the roof. The roof and its nearby ledges contain several goodies, and one of the crates just below you can find a Megahealth. Be advised that several Guards will be waiting on the roof, and several more will appear as you drop off it. Secret #5 is the room at the end of the pipes near the Ammo Pack, and secret #6 is the Invulnerability.
- 7) At the very end of the stage, there is a grate in the water near the exit door. Destroy the grate and proceed through to find a suit of Body Armor.
Bugs
- In the original release of The Reckoning, this level contained a missing kill. One of the Hyperblaster Guards on the rooftops (the area referenced in Secrets #5 and 6) does not spawn into the level correctly, resulting in the player being unable to achieve 100% kills. This problem is fixed in the 2023 remaster.
