Willits was a marine in the Terran Coalition of Man, who was involved in the first wave of the invasion of Stroggos. His pod crashed at the edge of the Security Complex, near the Guard House, and a human corpse is next to it - presumably Willits. Either he was killed on impact or by Strogg forces shortly after. A Chain Gun and Power Shield are next to the drop pod, presumably Willits' equipment.
Willits is named after Tim Willits, then studio director of id Software.
